Staff Sgt. Jesse G. Clowers Jr., of Virgina was a graduate of Cave Spring High School, Class of 1998, also a graduate of Virginia Tech, Class of 2003. A devoted and loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend, Jesse will always be remembered for his huge heart, big smile, outgoing personality, and most importantly, his overflowing love for his family. Jesse was preceded in death by his best friend, hero, and father, Jesse G. Clowers, Sr. Jesse's legacy will be carried on by his son, Jesse Gladden ("Jay") Clowers, III and daughter, Danielle Ann-Marie Clowers, both of whom he loved with all his heart. Jesse is also survived by his beautiful wife, Katherine F. Clowers; loving mother, Joyce C. Clowers; sisters, Kristi and Nikki Clowers; sister-in-law, Marti Tracy; nephews, Tyler and Tanner Newman and Alex Clowers; nieces, Zoe Newman and Madison O'Dell; grandparents, Pete and Margaret Christley; father-in-law, Michael O'Dell and mother-in-law, Linda O'Dell; brothers-in-law, Michael and Andrew O'Dell; a host of cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends; and his "boys"-Garrett, Jacob, Bo, Sartin, John, Marks, Spencer, and Alan. Jesse will always be missed, loved, and remembered by his family and friends, and they look forward to being with him again. He died in Nangarhar Province, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle at age 27.
